Good support is not about following the same checklist or routine with every participant.
Our team works with people whose needs may involve disability, mental health, trauma, clinical care or the justice system. That means noticing changes, communicating clearly, respecting boundaries and knowing when something needs to be raised.
You’ll have clinical knowledge and experienced leadership behind you, while still being trusted to build genuine working relationships with the people you support.
Progress can look different from one person to the next.
It might be helping someone manage more of their own morning routine, feel comfortable leaving the house, settle into a new home or get through a difficult period without losing the progress they have already made.
At Hope & Beyond Care Services, the focus is on what each person is working towards and how your role can help them get there; sometimes through big milestones, but often through the small things you do consistently every day.
Good work is easier when you have clear expectations, experienced people around you and someone to turn to when a situation changes.
At Hope & Beyond Care Services, we want staff to feel prepared for the work they’re doing. That means practical guidance, access to clinical leadership, open communication and opportunities to keep building your skills.
You’ll also be trusted to use your judgement, get to know the people you’re supporting and contribute ideas about how we can do things better.
Here are some common questions about joining Hope & Beyond Care Services and the type of work our team does.
Our work spans disability support, Supported Independent Living, in-home assistance, community access, mental health, nursing and other areas of participant care.
The roles we need can change depending on participant requirements and current vacancies. Your application should include your relevant experience, qualifications and the type of work you are interested in so we can understand where your skills may be best suited.
Relevant disability-sector experience can be valuable, particularly for roles involving higher support needs, mental health or more specialised care.
However, the experience required will depend on the position. A background in mental health, nursing or another relevant care setting may also bring useful skills to the team.
What matters is that you can work respectfully, communicate well, follow care and risk plans, recognise when something needs attention and understand that every participant should be treated as an individual.
Some participants supported by Hope & Beyond Care Services have needs that sit across disability, mental health, trauma, clinical care and forensic services. That means the work can require more observation, communication and judgement than simply completing a list of daily tasks.
Hope & Beyond Care Services is mental health nurse-led, so staff have clinical leadership behind the work they do. You may also work alongside Support Coordinators, clinicians and other professionals where a participant’s circumstances require a coordinated approach.
The practical parts of support still matter, but so does understanding what may be happening around them.
Experience matters, but the way you work with people matters too.
We value people who listen, communicate clearly, respect participant choice and can stay calm when situations change. You should be comfortable taking responsibility for your role, following through on important information and asking questions when something is unclear.
We also look for staff who understand the difference between helping someone and taking over. Good support should create opportunities for participants to make decisions, use their existing skills and build greater independence wherever possible.
